World’s Longest Distance Passenger Bus Service: A Record-Breaking Journey

The starting point of this bus service is Lima, Peru, and its destination is Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During the journey, these buses travel through the three countries of Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. First, in 2016, the “Ormeño” company officially started this transportation service. The total distance for this entire trip is 6300 km, and it takes 6 days to complete that distance.

During the trip, the bus will be driven by two drivers and four staff including the bus security officer and a mechanic will travel in this bus.

Generally, this entire trip costs between 245 and 260 per person in United State Dollers. The facilities of transporting 44 passengers per trip are available in these buses. You need visas for several countries for this trip.

Due to the lack of passengers, these buses run only one day every week and two buses run between the two destinations on that day. During the journey, the bus company does not provide food to you, and you have to buy all the food you need from food outlets. The bus company only gives you free coffee and water.

This bus travels through the world’s driest desert, the Chilean Atacama Desert, the Andes Mountain Range, and the Amazon Forest.

During this journey, a security officer with a weapon travels on the bus. This is because robberies and kidnappings often happen in these countries, so the passengers need protection.
